E-regie Solution – The approach
To
establish a Stable Energy Community, Eregie has developed a Process/Method and
a Digital Twin (DT) Energy Model that guides participants step by step in
understanding how to form a community. The transition lies within the
entrepreneur and/or the citizen, evolving from “everyone for themselves” to
“sharing is better,” thereby creating a cooperative. People realize that they
need to “get their house in order” first before exploring which measures are
best taken collectively.
An
important Unique Selling Point (USP) is that ownership and control of the
overarching IoT platform (DT Energy Model) belong to the community!
The result
of this method is the creation of a preliminary design for the required energy
system, which can be realized by, for, and of the
community. All the roles necessary to establish a stable (local) community are
(or will be) digitized. These roles include balance-responsible partners,
congestion service providers, and energy suppliers.
During the
realization phase and the commissioning of the local energy system, the impact
of the DT Model and the community’s (energy) independence from the commercial
market grows significantly by maximizing the local energy generation
capabilities of the participants. Issues such as congestion (energy transport)
on (or across) the regional and national infrastructure are minimized.
In the
management and maintenance phase, the DT Model ensures that these processes are
carried out as efficiently as possible by proactively solving faults and
predicting potential system failures in advance, ensuring system stability and
preventing the loss of locally and sustainably generated energy.
Because
ownership and control rest with the participants, they maintain control over
their energy supply. All solutions/projects are delivered as tailored solutions
at minimal costs, with little to no reliance on commercial energy markets (such
as EPEX and the Imbalance Market)
