Building a stable energy community focusing on participants collectively consuming locally and sustainably generated energy. The goal is to maximize local energy production and minimize reliance on the regional and national infrastructure of network operators.

Questions/Challenges

  1. How can locally and sustainably generated energy be shared collectively?
  2. What is the appropriate organizational structure for such a community?
  3. What agreements need to be established, and with whom?
  4. How do we ensure that the individual interests of businesses and citizens shift toward a collective interest?
  5. How can we create a “Do-Learn Environment” where citizens and businesses can develop, grow, measure, and learn, while solutions are tested against natural and economic values

Project Launch

A group of initiators will begin with a scan of the current situation, following the steps outlined below. The building De Brug will be set up as a “Do & Learn Environment.”

Goal:

To establish a local energy community that is independent of external energy supply. A community that meets its own energy needs while using regional and national energy infrastructure as a backup rather than a primary source. Surplus energy will be shared with other energy communities, preventing congestion on the network operator’s infrastructure
